If you’ve ever wondered what happens when a team of IT people step away from their desks and attempt to build a soapbox race kart… you’re about to find out.

On 21st June, we’ll be taking part in Sheffield Krazy Races to raise funds for Roundabout, a South Yorkshire charity supporting young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Every entry fee, sponsorship, and donation goes towards helping provide accommodation, life skills, and long-term support to people who need it most.

We’ve got a team of 12 volunteers from across 1101 getting involved by giving up their time to design, build, and race our kart.

And just to make life harder for ourselves, we’re not building something simple. We’re building a giant computer mouse!

None of us are mechanics. We spend our days working on systems, processes, and helping businesses run better. So, this is well outside our comfort zone.
