# What 1101 does
1101 is a Sheffield-based digital transformation company, and we help SMEs across the UK get the best out of modern technology.
We don't do fluff or unnecessary jargon. Our focus is on practical solutions that make your day easier and your business more profitable.
And because we don’t mess about when it comes to quality, we’ve teamed up with some of the biggest names in software and hardware.
## Why choose 1101
Most IT providers stick to the same old script with fixed services and that familiar “not in scope” shrug. That's not us.
We look at the bigger picture. Strategy comes first, then solutions that move you closer to your goals. Not just today but for the long haul. That thinking led to our 2023 rebrand to 1101 – a shift from tech support to true digital transformation specialists.
Here's the backstory:
## 2009
## The origin
It all began when Mike and Marvin took a bold leap and foundedMCI 4 Service. What started as an unknown managed service provider soon became a trusted name for reliable IT solutions.
## 2018
## The evolution
Oz, formerly our Technical Services Manager, then stepped into the role of Managing Director, bringing fresh vision and unstoppable energy. That shift ignited a new wave of growth.
## 2023
## The transformation
Mike had a breakthrough idea: rebrand as 1101, inspired by our Roman numeral roots, and reposition us as digital transformation specialists.
## 2024
## The ascension
It paid off. We achieved 40% growth, and the real highlight was that 75% of new business came through referrals. Three out of four clients came to us because someone they trust said, “Speak to 1101.”

## Where 1101 is heading
Our mission’s clear: deliver solutions that make everyday operations simpler and boost performance.
Whether it’s streamlining your processes, sharpening your systems, or opening doors to new opportunities, we’re all about growth - whatever that looks like for you.
That’s how we plan to achieve our vision of becoming the digital partner of choice for SMEs across the UK.
